OFB Mission Statement

"OFB Global" is a not-for-profit business enterprise separate to, but associated with with OFB Corporation Pty Ltd.

OFB Global was created to empower any local communities around the globe with sound quality product solutions, that can be marketed to the ordinary person, bringing a safer and more productive living environment.

1. INTRODUCTION

Solutions to the escalating issues faced by people, particularly in developing people groups, are offered in wide and varied ways. Often solutions are offered as “rescue packages” with money being spend on programs that reinforce that developing people groups are suitable for handouts which leave them remaining in the position of being under-valued. OFB Global offers another option to improve the lives of people, but in a different way. This proposal outlines an option for people groups by OFB Global to people within Australia and throughout the world.

2. THE COMPANY

OFB GLOBAL Ltd is a Not For Profit company, established with the purpose of uplifting developing people groups in Australia and throughout the world by creating enterprises and employment, and thereby enhancing their feeling of value and self worth, as well as providing a basis for economic reform within communities

The company's Board of Directors oversee that all profits generated will solely be applied to the benefit of mankind in its varied humanitarian projects. To assist in achieving the goals, associated companies will be established throughout the world, and be managed by local leaders who share OFB GLOBAL’s ideals and visions. Profits generated by these companies will be available to them for their particular work in their regions.

3. PRODUCTS

OFB Global would like to initially introduce one product, but have many others available. All products and will fulfil the needs that exists in communities, generating higher income.

3.1 Soil Binder™

The product selected as a conduit to enter the global market is OFB Soil Binder™, a Latex based chemical that, when applied to soil, creates a surface that is as hard as concrete. The product is extremely versatile in its application, and can be applied to create a very large range of desperately needed solutions in communities. OFB Soil Binder™ is diluted when applied to the soil, the water acting as a carrier agent for the product.

The integrity of this product has been tested in the field as well as in a NATA accredited laboratory, the results of which are available upon request.

3.1.1 Applications
The following applications are examples of the use of OFB Soil Binder:

  1. Road Base and/or Road Sealant

The product presents an ideal solution to a less expensive road base that can be used prior to the application of other surfaces to give a solid base.

It also presents an excellent sealant to dirt roads in that the top 150mm (6 inches) can be treated and compacted to provide a sealed road surface that is significantly less expensive than conventional asphalt or concrete solutions to road surfaces.

OFB Soil Binder™ is an inexpensive solution to the building of durable, long lasting roads, capable of handling any volume of traffic. The building of roads can successfully be done with the minimum of equipment, and is an ideal method of creating employment.

  1. Sealant for other surfaces

In a similar way that OFB Soil Binder™ is used for the sealing of a roadway, it is ideal as an alternative for paved areas and earth floor homes.

  1. Dust Suppression

Dust suppression, particularly with mines is a continuing problem that can only be temporarily solved with the application of copious amounts of water. OFB Soil Binder™ is an ideal product that can be used as a longer term dust suppression solution. Even though a direct on ground application will have a limited life in a busy traffic situation, it will have a longer life than a direct water application which is only effective for as long as it takes to evaporate the water. The application of OFB Soil Binder™ is the same as for water application, via a water truck.

  1. Production of Bricks for Construction

In urban as well as rural areas throughout developing countries, housing is one of the greatest needs. Building materials are expensive and usually not freely available, resulting in people being forced to build mud huts or tin shanties to house their families. These “houses” offers very little protection against the elements, and is often the main contributing factor of diseases. Soil is the most common material available to people, and by using OFB Soil Binder™, bricks for building houses, or any other type of building, can be manufactured at low cost. No sophisticated, expensive machinery are required for the manufacture of bricks, it can be made manually. Should people prefer their traditional style of housing, soil treated with OFB Soil Binder can be used to build a hut or dwelling, that will be long lasting and provide adequate protection against the elements.

  1. Sealing of Mud Rendered Buildings

In cases where buildings are already constructed with a mud render, these can be treated with OFB Soil Binder™ to seal the exterior and interior of the walls.

These are a few examples of using OFB Soil Binder™ and may be used in many other applications such as creating pathways, establishing embankments, creating hard surfaces for Bus stops, playing and recreational areas, sealing leaking dams and the building of irrigation channels, etc

4. OUTCOMES

4.1 Developing Peoples / Countries

Governments, at all levels, have the responsibility for providing and maintaining the infrastructure. With limited funds available, an ideal opportunity exists for communities to maintain roads in their area with funding from the authorities responsible. Employment is created, authorities are assisted to fulfil their obligations at low cost, and a better living environment is created for all people in the region. In some countries World Bank funding, or funding by the United Nations, are available for the construction of new roads. These are opportunities that can be exploited by communities that will assist in their upliftment.

Often very creative entrepreneurs are found amongst unemployed or underdeveloped peoples. OFB Soil Binder can be used to create many opportunities for the development of much needed products and services. OFB Soil Binder™ can be used on any absorbent materials to create products, e.g. old newspapers can be used to manufacture tiles, wood shavings can be used to manufacture boards or wood tiles, etc. Only the entrepreneur’s imagination limits what can be achieved. A further opportunity exists in landscaping.

Dust is not only a major problem in underdeveloped countries, but also the carrier of many deceases. OFB Soil Binder™ is an ideal dust suppressant and can be successfully used in virtually any environment. Ploughed fields can be treated to eliminate fertile top soil being blown away by the wind, and it is ideal for the prevention of soil erosion.

4.2 Developed Peoples / Countries

Virtually all of the above problems and situations exist in developed counties, and more. In developed countries you have the Environmental Protection Agencies that act as watchdogs to monitor that the environment is not polluted. Industries like Mining, Building and Wharfs are particularly scrutinized to ensure that they comply too all regulations. Where a dust problem exists, OFB Soil Binder™ will be the solution.

Mines have to limit dust on all their internal roadways, and millions liters of water is used daily to combat the problem. It, however, is not a solution to the problem as the dust is only contained while the soil is damp. OFB Soil Binder is a cost effective solution to the problem. Road surfaces will be greatly improved, limiting maintenance cost to vehicles and improving working conditions.

Coal dust at Coal Mines and Wharfs, as well as during the transportation of coal, is another area of concern to the coal industry. A solution to the problem can be offered to the industry through the sealing and suppression of the coal dust. Further to this, where coal dust has been stockpiles, this can be treated with Soil Binder™ and made into pellets for transport and use.

As discussed previously, OFB Soil Binder is ideal for use a road base. It offers an alternative option to tar the road, chip seal the road or utilize it as a dirt road with low maintenance. Many Local Authorities have limited budgets available, and are seeking affordable solutions.

Building sites have to control and limit the emission of dust into the environment. They attempt to achieve this by regularly watering down the site. This is not only an expensive and labor intensive operation which requires millions of liters of water, but has to be done, at best, daily, and often more frequently. OFB Soil Binder™ can solve the problem for them. Opportunities also exist to offer a dust suppression service to the various industries by applying OFB Soil Binder™ on a regular basis.

5. CONCLUSION

OFB Global seeks to present valid options to a wide range of people through the introduction, training and supply of products that will provide value to people and provide solutions to unmet needs.

OFB Soil Binder™ creates many opportunities for various types of people and situations throughout the world. These range from developing peoples lacking value and with limited resources, entrepreneurial minded individuals to establish a small business without an opportunity to do so, as well as a major mining corporation with a dust problem.
