OFB Products put out fire on burning airplane fast

...... the general opinion of the expert fire fighters was "Outstanding - obviously the equipment of the future."

OFB CAF Systems Product Testing - South Australia

3rd April 2000 - Test conducted at Woomera rocket range in South Australia.

Subject is a Canberra Bomber, filled with tyres, mattresses, pressurised fuel injected for the duration of the fire. This fire was classed as category A, B, and D.

The Fire had a pre-burn of 30 minutes, and reached temperatures of over 5000. Fahrenheit. The Fire was completely extinguished in five minutes, twenty seconds, by the expert fire fighters.

Comments from the fire-fighters:

Using existing fire-fighting foam, it would have taken over half an hour and used approximately 30000 litres of foam.

Only 800 litres of foam chemical product @ 0.4% was used for complete extinguishment. The CAF Systems used were a 1000 litre and 500 litre. After extinguishment, 700 litres of compressed air foam was still available.

In summary, the general opinion of the expert fire fighters was "Outstanding - obviously the equipment of the future."
